That's how she caught him, she held down his A until he stopped struggling

everytime shoutingisfun randomly posts it gives me hope, but I swear the gaps between the random posts gets longer every time

I think the only Pokémon that hit the 'oh shit they can get it' was Salazzale for me. It didn't help that she had several charm moves in her kit

Hold A? I grew up on "tap B repeatedly "

1 month ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

tap B was to stop the evolution, if I dont misremember. hold A was a mith to catch 100% Around here the myth was down+A

Also, also! Blue FTW! It had SandShrew and Vulpix!

Growlithe was way better.

Not gonna work, it's hold down and mash B for better odds. I dunno where this hold down A business came from honestly.

I think it's an urban legend sorta thing, hold down A (or repeatedly press B) when catching a tough-to-catch pokemon to improve your chances.

C O N T E X T. You're welcome.

That’s shit did not work at all.

Use the Konami Code next time.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, yea! That's because it was ⬇️B!

1 month ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

But not a and b, that would make it fail

1 month ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It never did. I still do it anyway, like a baseball player who has his little superstitious ritual before he goes up to bat.

I have literal years of anecdotal evidence that says otherwise. /s

I remember reading once that the code for the Gen 1 games was written in such a way that pressing any combination of buttons before the ball clicked shut did, in fact, influence the RNG. But not always for the better. New number not necessarily better than old number.

Gen 2 onward adjusted the code so that RNG was decided when you threw the ball.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though!

I read the same thing, but it requires a frame-perfect input.

I want this with a giant dragon/monster woman. Nothing sexual, just this.

big goodra gf who welcomes you home from your long day at work, cuddles with you everyday and loves listening to you

Aggron, scoliopede, or snorlax GF, affectionately possessive, semi pinning you to the couch with their arms around you as you two share a night of pizza and bingewatching

Given the pokedex entries of gardeviour, this seems completely accurate

Something i think is weird is that Gardevoir can be male, but Gallade cant be female. Cause you can kinda make argument "old japanese business men want to keep gender roles" but Gardevoir directly goes against that.

1 month ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 1

It's mostly just a mirror to how Glalie can be either gender but Froslass can only be female. Also of note, Gallade is the only male-exclusive evolution, compared to Vespiquen, Froslass, and Salazzle being female-exclusive.

1 month ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I dont know the specifics of Salazzle. But Vespiquen and Froslass are female only because of the thing that inspired them, a queen bee (always female) and Yuki Onna (literally "snow woman") respectively. AFAIK Gallade is just inspired by "heroes" so there isnt a need for it to be male only

Gardevoir predates gallade. In 3rd Gen its the only thing a ralts can become, regaurdless of gender. When gallade became a thing, if the split was truely male/female, then a male gardevoir (which has gameplay differences that could matter competitively) would only
Be obtainable by evolving it in hoenn and then migrating it up from generation to generation.

Competitive pokemon players would be pissed if you literally couldnt get it in the current gen unless you have an old 3ds

im not saying Gardevoir should be female only. im saying Gallade should be able to be female as well

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Fair. My guess would be that the idea was a real split and the above problem got in the way, but who knows, they were apparently out there writing some pretty fucked up low at the time.

Fun fact, the new PvP Pokemon game Pokemon Champions had a female Gallade at launch, but it got patched a short while later.
