This is a real macro photography with focus stacking and wiggle stereoscopy. The width and depth of a groove is 0.2mm by 0.2mm. Wiggling improves your depth perception on a flat screen. This project shows you unfamiliar tiny world in stereoscopic 3D. Not VFX, not CGI, not AI.

What is the material that had the engraving done on it? What is the laser wavelength, power, and pulse frequency for this engraving?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

so where is the laser??...

Seriously. You are doing a fusion of art, science and exploration into the minute. Opening windows that people didn't even know existed. Please go talk to local tv stations and get on them and show off your stuff and get super famous and rich inspiring others. ❤️

Did anyone else spend a few minutes wondering why the tall hills around the sunken squares were so rough?

Improving my depth perception.

All the important frames have been re-posed out of this video… People that truncate frames instead of bytes should be shot out of a cannon into a safe, gentle and soft PILE OF STEAMING SHIT!

0.2mm ≈ 7.9 thousandths of an inch

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Thanks, but we've got a ruler handy.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Writing 7.9 thousands of an inch is as bad as writing 1/5mm.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That's when we would say 7.9mils.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're supposed to write it as .0079"
