Something Happened at Work Today.

So, around 2:45 P.M. today, my coworkers looked out the windows in our shop to see about 15 police cars lined up on the small frontage street that our company sits. There are some train tracks that run across from the building, and under an overpass, officers were walking all up and down the tracks with concerned looks. I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach about what had happened. We were all naturally curious, so my supervisor put on a local police scanner app and listened in. What we found out was horrible. Someone had jumped off the overpass and into an oncoming passenger train. Now, I didn't see it happen, and this wasn't someone I knew. I don't know if it was a man or a woman, I don't know if they were young or old, what I do know is that they were in pain, and probably felt more alone than any of us could imagine. This whole situation is terrible, I can only imagine the suffering their family will be going through, or how the train driver/passengers will probably never get over it. This whole situation is just sad in its very nature. So please, take the time out of your day to tell the people you care about how you feel, tell them things that matter, show them that you love them. I feel like if someone, even a passing stranger, would have taken the time to show this person their worth then maybe, just maybe, they wouldn't have jumped.

The local transit authority nor any local news sites have released any information about the incident. They have just been redirecting passengers and playing damage control on twitter for the past 3hrs. Since it's fresh, and seems like a delicate situation, I will not post any identifiable information until local news outlets have a linkable story.
