Conservative parties worldwide are being infiltrated by far-right nationalists and Canada is no different. What began as the “Freedom” Convoy movement’s protest against government overreach has evolved into something far more sinister and ideological: a nationalist movement aimed not at limiting government, but at capturing and restructuring it.

At the center of this authoritarian movement is a network of oligarchs, politicians, think tanks, digital propaganda operations, and dark money funding streams that connect Canadian far-right politics to a US and global movement. Understanding this architecture reveals how ideas, money, and influence flow from international organizations through domestic intermediaries and into the Canadian political mainstream. It’s important to draw the distinction between legitimate conservative politics and this coordinated far-right authoritarian movement who are infiltrating democratic structures to undermine democracy itself.....
