Donald Trump answered Canada's tariffs with a Truth Social post, and the tariffs took effect anyway.

Ottawa's levies on $20 billion in American goods went live at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, matching the 50% he put on Canadian wine, cement and hockey sticks last month. On Monday he posted "NO MORE SELLING BOMBARDIER IN THE UNITED STATES! Their products aren't good enough!" Bombardier builds jets in Wichita with more than 1,000 workers, a fact the governor of Kansas reached out to the White House that afternoon to point out. Nobody from either government has spoken to the other since the talks collapsed on August 21.

He also posted about Iran that night, promising oil prices "will drop precipitously" once "we WIN the war." There are no announced negotiations between the 2 governments, and only 7 ships made it through Hormuz on Monday, against 130 a day before the war. Gas was $4.15 a gallon while he typed.

Starting wars, not ending them, is the very essence of Drumpf. The only type of war, as in his previous business wars, thatcDrumpf "ends" are wars he initiated.

And that includes those he thinks he has with law enforcement caused by his illegal actions.

It will take decades, at the very least, just gain the amount of debt and opportunities lost by his idiocy.

It lowers sales volume of american products there. I'm certain both sides carefully chose which constituencies they could tick off. They're literally on specific items.

I live near the Canadian border in NY. I've been surrounded by die-hard red hats for years. All of this bullshit with Canada has really hit the local economy HARD. Everything from contractors to retailers to marina and campground owners. You don't pick fights with the GOOD neighbors...

Also a close-to-the-border NY'er here, and yeah youre not wrong. This have been slowly dying in this area anyway, but i've noticed a rapid acceleration since the orange ones antics his second term. SOOO much of this area is driven by tourism, and its just not here anymore. More cheese for me i guess.

Yeah, I was surprised to see as many Trump Vance signs while vacationing up there as I see here in E. Texas. There's fewer here now and most of the ones left are tattered. I guess they can't afford replacements, I wonder why?
