You could even see it with the naked eye if you squinted. Gave me chills, knowing how far out it was, both in time and space. Awesome!

Agree. Hyakutake was absolutely spectacular. It is the standard by which all other modern comets should be measured.

I caught Neowise very late and it was more a smudge in the sky through my cheap binoculars. Only found him in the sky just before giving up!

? I remember trying to take a pic in the city w/ light pollution. When I finally found it I was like "Thats it? All that hype for a smudge"

You'll note the glow in the background of the mountains.... light pollution from nearby city.

If you got to a really dark spot, it was a slightly better defined smudge.

But yeah, to the naked eye it wasn't much. Had to use high ISO setting.

Yup. I could only see it on my camera. I had to bump up my ISO and then zoom in. I'm sure if I took it into Lightroom I could make it nice.
