One of the problems being that the Iranian Foreign Ministry and the IRGC aren't particularly friendly right now. There was a post a while back where an IRGC soldier said "Idiot Tweets don't decide" whether the strait is open, which was interpreted as a jab at Trump. But the head of the foreign ministry, Abbas Araghchi, had also tweeted at around the same time the strait was re-opened, and Iranian state media (IRGC controlled) HATED that: https://www.iranintl.com/en/202604172614

Only thing I've learned from this debacle is that gas is still dirt cheap in the US and it's no wonder them shits drive a car anywhere that is farther than the length of an average car. So maybe tax the rich and tax driving a car a little bit as well?

You can go fuck yourself with a car tax unless it pays for the world's most robust public transit system... Which I really wish it would, to be clear. I WANT the public transit system. Maybe we do a "first one and then the other" thing? Tax the shit out of the rich and use that to build whatever the hell gets me to work on time?
