ive got three months but...
I'm sort of numb to the whole thing. I know I should feel something but I dont know, it just feels surreal.
Thanks. I havent told anyone. My brothers dont even know. Lucky First :'D
Also shameless sympathy votes.

I get it. My mom stuck around until my brother and I turned 18, then she divorced my scumbag father. Still loves both of us, and vice versa.
RatBasil
All my childhood, I would tell mine to get divorced b/c of all the fighting. They laughed at me. Then, after high school, boom. Divorced.
PerfectlyNormalHumanCitizen
Mine waited until the end of my junior year. The divorce finances pretty much fucked any capacity to pay for the rest of college...
Feralkyn
Shit, man, I'm sorry
MrScud
Thanks man. I appreciate it.
Demitger
Friend parents did this. The love was gone but the friendship was still there. They were much happier just being friends after 30 years.
TheMonsterWithinYou
Why do people always trip when their parents divorce? If theyre unhappy then its better for them to split than have a miserable marriage
MaybelineforHikers
I was actually pleased when mine got divorced
StrazzaDazza
I was extremely happy for mine... Very complicated and deep in which the relationship staying in tact affected me as well
MatthewTurpin
My parents getting divorced was the best thing that happened to our family, everyone use to be so angry. At first you'll be uncomfortable,
MatthewTurpin
But the feeling will fade. I love seeing how happy my parents are now, i never really got to see it much as a kid.
Sheari
Sadly, this sort of thing is quite common :c
conjuratio
Same happened to me. After I got older I realized they only stayed together until I left
MrScud
This wasnt that even though it certainly feels like it.
jeep44
They aren't getting divorced from you
MrScud
Doesnt make it any easier though. It came out of the blue. Granted I saw the signs but idk, I guess i was just dreading the day. tyt
JohmBambo
Yeah, my parents got divorced too. I was like "ok.." It didn't affect me, it was their choise. ofc they both loved me still.
pedrohed
Would you rather they stay together and be unhappy. You'll be fine you're old enough to understand their feelings.
InfernoTerra
Don't** You're welcome?
SHOOHS
Once it settles in you'll be ok. They still love you. Soon you'll be doubling up on holiday meals too. Love can be such a bitch. Chin up!
xXOccamsChainsawXx
Yay two Christmases!
SugaBebbe
Good for them for going back to school?
MrScud
I wish it were that cheery but no
tissiposki
They waited until you leave the nest.
MrScud
seems like it but no. More complicated
StrazzaDazza
Sometimes two people just don't feel the chemistry as they used to over time. My parents are divorced as well, you'll get used to it and 1/2
StrazzaDazza
you'll be fine in the end. Just stay strong. Is it a friendly and mutual break up or the other violent kind if you don't mind me asking...
MrScud
seems more friendly but also more out of necessity than want.
StrazzaDazza
Whatever you do, don't let it affect you too much, you have college and a future career ahead of you. Your success in the future can be 1/2
StrazzaDazza
controlled by you, you can't control whether or not your parents are getting divorced
MrScud
Thank you. I'll keep it in mind
