I'm paid by hour. But huge reductions in the industry in the last few months resulted in me, and dozens of people I know, not being marked in weekly schedules in the last 3 months. At least the contract covers my health insurance and my expenses aren't that big so I can live off savings for some time. But the contract ends in April and I doubt it's going to be extended.

Yeah I'm looking for a new job but holy fuck, last time I was unemployed for a year before I found the current one. In the last 4 years I've been on whopping three job interviews. Future's looking grim.

Which industry?

Gamedev. So given the recent events I'm not ever surprised I'm one of the thousands out of work but damn.

What kind of work do you do?

External QA. Not my dream job but at least I am (was?) in preferred industry.

Looks like they're not getting scheduled.

Just as said. Paid by hour. My services aren't needed so I'm not called to work. If I'm not working, I'm not getting paid. Mandate contract.

You might be able to apply for unemployment depending on where you’re at. Make sure you let them know that you were getting zero hours.

You may want to contact an employment lawyer.

Not much that can be done here, there was no contract breach.
