As an atheist, the biggest bummer is the lack of community. I love helping people. I love my community. Also when I tell people I’m an atheist, they assume I’m a nihilist. I can’t even explain how many people I’ve had to teach the difference between atheism and nihilism.
Frankly, as a person who grew up in evangelicalism, I live my life more closely to Christs teachings than the Christians I know.
It's kinda weird that the right loves using Fredrick Douglas, but whitewashing to their own goals: https://youtu.be/PTClwhOtEL8 Indoctrinating children.
Exactly how does one person connect with a needy person and deliver meals to them? Without an agency like Meals on wheels? Tell me Ahorseel when I work full time how im supposed to deliver meals ive purchased and cooked to get to the needy individual,,?
'believe in us or go to hell' if i hear them use anything similar of that i just get up tell them "hell it is then". then i get up and leave the room/area
Nope. Cuz like he said. It takes work. People get enough satisfaction from being performative in so many parts of their life. No need to actually do things.
In my actual life, I have met One. He used to help out on suicide/suicide prevent chatrooms way back in the AOL days. One person in particular was going to kill themself because they were going to die of kidney disease and were running out of time to find a match for a transplant. He went and had himself tested, was a match, and donated his kidney.

Or maybe people just have fewer imaginary friends than they used to. Some call that progress.

It's great, but the people that need to hear this won't understand it

I mean, this guy is decidedly not the right, nor was this video about the right using Fredrick douglas, but ok.

They do the same with MLK, too.

Its good to serve others. That's empathy. You dont need Jesus or religion to do that. Donate to meals on wheels.
ahorseelbowdeepinme
You dont need meals on wheels to give food to people. Just do it on your own.

Oh my gosh, you're right! It's almost like organizations such as meals on wheels... or churches, can help with facilitating charity!

Interesting points. The whole "believe in us or go to hell" doesn't really seem to work much anymore, so what else they got? Starbucks?
Beefkins
If hell exists, it's full of Christians. I can't think of a worse punishment than being surrounded by self-righteous hypocrites for all of eternity.

Or, if they're right and heaven exists it's also full of Christians

They just dont make the news much as the other type of christian but they're out there
Legomaniac91
Probably because they spend their time actually practicing what Jesus preached instead of screaming about how good a Christian they are into a camera.
