Proton Pack Build
Mostly 3D printed, set out to build this as part of my Ghostbusters costume for Halloween 2015. If you're interested is buying this, it is for sale on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172096084945?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
Original concept before I decieded to just 3D print everything

Original Pre-Halloween
This is what it looked like in the process of building
Testing lights
I was trying to chose a good material to diffuse my blue LEDs. Opaque hot glue sticks work the best
What the pack ended up looking like for Halloween
A bit messy because I was pressed on time
After Halloween
I decided to remake the pack to look movie-accurate because I was bothered by how much like garbage mine looked
So I set to work
Cyclotron has lights!
Housing for the Proton Thrower
Or Neutrino Wand if you're that kind of person.
Plastidipped and ready for LEDs
My new design for a proton pack (he said sarcastically)
I ripped everything off the board to start fresh. You can see the microcontroller controlling the lights
My foam and wire foam cutter
Coating the Styrofoam in PVA glue
If I don't do this, the plastidip eats the foam
Seeing what it looked like so far
Repainted all other parts
sanded the motherboard too
Plastidipped the foam and motherboard
