If you only have a full sized oven, it may save you a bit on your electricity/gas bill. I've only barely begun to use mine, and haven't noticed much of a taste difference.

Honestly, I bought one just because I was too overwhelmed by all the dishes I use while cooking and have lost 20lbs in the last month and a half from stress. But sure, my air fryer is a fad. Don’t even get me started on how much i used my Pizazz Pizza Cooker before it was stolen.

As long as your air fryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and toaster are in agreement about a division of labor, as to who is responsible for collecting what information about you to send back to the marketing department, I don't see any conflict there.

I'm convinced air fryers and pellet grills are for men who aren't secure enough to admit they like baking. I decided this while learning how to use the pellet grill my wife bought me.. it reminded me a LOT of learning to bake: use these ingredients to taste, cook for exactly this long at this temp, then this long at this temp, let it rest.. blah blah.. hahaha

BTW I am extremely unfashionable and also lack the time and interest for serious cooking. I have a 32 year old microwave/hot air oven and it does just about everything I need food wise. Also, after 32 years I can operate it with my eyes closed :)
