The fourth text is as despicable as it is confusing: This book came out after the wall dividing Germany had been built by the East German dictatorship. The official lie was that it was a wall against Western infiltrators, an "anti-fascist wall of protection", but in reality, the mine fields, automatic guns, barbed wire and heavily armed soldiers were all aiming East in order to prevent citizens from escaping the inhumane regime. 140 people were murdered between 1961 and 1989, among them thirteen children.
With books like these that promoted militarism and spread misinformation, children were indoctrinated from an early age.
As for the text being confusing, the "game" that the child is supposed to play isn't any more coherent in its original German. I get the memorizing objects part so that you can spot your own fellow countrymen as they try to escape this hellhole, I mean, brutal Western infiltrators trying to infiltrate the glorious Socialist utopia, but where do the puzzle pieces suddenly come from?

The game sounds like a Memory Game I read about, where there's a table with a bunch (like, 20+ for "hard mode") of random objects (green apple, pen, ruler, red apple, ball, ect) and then you close your eyes and someone removes something and if you can remember and say what it is, you get a point. Person with most points by the time all the objects has been removed, wins.

Politics aside those are all viable training techniques for developing skills.

It's hardly any more disgusting than any other piece of military propaganda present in the U.S, or really, anywhere in the world. Only when we move away from the petty nationalistic squabbles of our time can we move past this shit
