This is a good example of how making stupid statements in the service of good intentions negates the intentions. It's very possible trans women are too "strong" to compete against natural-born women and too "weak" to compete with the he-men of the military, so the argument doesn't challenge either scenario.

I don't think this paraphrasing sums it up correctly. To be more precise, I believe the argument would be along the lines of: people born with the physical characteristics attributed to male biological sex are 'too strong' to play sports with people who were born with the physical characteristics of those born biologically female. I am all for people being who they wanna be, I do have concerns with sports and bathrooms. I have friends who have been assaulted and are afraid of being in closed area with men even if they are transitioned and I can’t say that isn’t a reasonable concern. As for the military it’s dumb to restrict anyone in that basis.

I don't really think your concerns are warranted. A) I'm taller than most women, should I have been restricted from high school basketball? B) This just seems very similiar to the same way that men were concerned about gay men in locker rooms. C) I included a picture of a trans man here, I don't think your friends would be more comfortable with him walking in. Plus, women's bathrooms rarely lock, men could have just walked in to assault women.

Well fairness is gender based that’s why they separate men and women. Men are just in general more athletic and stronger. So the question is is it unfair starting off as different sex giving an unfair advantage in any of these sports. I get it’s all just bodies but even if you transition you still arnt the same as if you were being born that gender. It may not even apply to all sports but you could at least see why some womeb might feel it’s unfair. (1)

I am not sure going around and asking about woman’s experiences with assault would be appropriate lol. I’m just saying what I have heard about it in conversations on the subject. I’m not a woman but I mean doesn’t seem like an invalid concern to have as one. But not everyone is gonna feel the same either so I get that. I served with a woman who had to hide her identity when she was in, even as don't ask got repealed it was still such a taboo situation. The UCMJ is scary, our laws when enlisted include things like going to jail for adultery. So the fear exists, the bullying exists, the violence against them exists. Detransitioning is a rare occurrence. When it does happen, however, the reason is almost always societal pressure and/or money.
