I am preferential to a 1 grit.

It needs to be river sand, that's still sharp. Beach sand is rounded.

Use mica so at least you look fabulous.

If it's too large it won't get stuck in their eyes. If it's too fine it's easily washed out with tears. You need to find that balance.
