TLDR; Imgur'a daddy, MediaLab, fired the US devs. Notifications broke, folks heard nothing from MediaLab/Imgur on a fix for days. Someone posted criticizing MediaLab, and mods took it down. They posted showing their post was silently taken down. Others tried posting, theirs were taken down. Posts became vulgar, mods started giving folks warnings. Now the front page is flooded due to Imgur'a attempt to censor.

correct, with one minor alteration. There probably aren't any mods left. The mods were outsourced about 6-12 months ago and then there were rumours of AI taking over the mods role.
