Fuck that was freaky. I thought it was just a poorly prepared drill and I kept doing maintenance. My buddy on the drill team knew it wasn't what was brief and went to hound Doc for morphine.
I'm concerned because my home is right next to both a naval base and a marine base, which includes a shipyard. I can see multiple warships from my patio including a carrier. Just afraid that in the event of nukes it's going to be a target.
This. I’m coming outside to greet the fireworks face-to-face. I have absolutely no desire to live in the dystopian hellscape that’s going to emerge afterwards.

Weird hill to die on, but okay.
RetrogradeLlama
Martians could be invading too, but I'm not getting too worried about it.
dynamojoe
I'd be crazy enthusiastic about a Martian invasion.
AgentCatherine
They’ve already been here, they said hard pass.

I live a few miles from a nuclear weapon storage facility. If something happens, I will never know, and it will be someone else's problem.
Madchant
I'm between 2 tactical submarine bases and a navy shipyard. I figure I'm cooked 3 ways to Sunday if things go sideways.

Welcome to the cooked club! We have cookies!

I wouldn't be worried if it's just one carrier
Pilgrymm
The Vinson, the Lincoln and the Roosevelt are all stationed here. I think the Vinson is in Korea right now though.

In the event of nukes, you'd probably be one of the lucky first wave of deaths who doesn't have to suffer through the aftermath.

Instant vaporization vs. slowly starving to death/radiation sickness - vaporize me!

I really wanted to be put in cryo with my wife and kid and wake up 210 years later.
