She's a ho, a fuck up, a cronyistic tyrant. She also got by with it, and I hope she nails her brother from another affiliation to the wall. What Trump did does not excuse her absolute dumpster behavior, but I hope she takes him out along with herself.

I don’t give a damn who she sleeps with…

Seems Wade resigned, so is no longer involved in the case, which removes any and all questions about whatever the bullshit was about in the first place.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They just lost their right to appeal on those grounds, or any grounds associated with what was brought up in this. Lol

This had no bearing whatsoever on the facts of the Election Interference Prosecution of Trump! She is a grown-ass woman and can date whoever the hell she wants! The appearance of impropriety be damned - they found no evidence of wrongdoing!

judge is a coward. he's afraid of tfg's stochastic terrorists.

Game on! Nail that mange-pocked hide to the wall.

She can continue prosecuting if Wade steps aside

I feel like there's a SCOTUS precedent that says that doesn't have to happen, but OK

You can not give Republicans ANYTHING to hold over you. They will do anything they can to get away with murder.

He did.

Good, lotta fucking about over nothing. Get the old orange bastard in prison already

2 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 4

It's not "nothing."

Don't get me wrong. Trump's a piece of shit and I hope he goes to jail. Fani ain't clean either though, and anyone who pretends she is isn't being honest.

She has tainted this case, and it very well could have an impact on how it ends.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Fani lost Wade (removing him from the case was explicitly a condition for her continuing on the case), who is, by all accounts, an expert in the subject matter... so not only was it a delay, it was arguably a (minor) win for Trump et al.

Go go go go go go go!!!!! C’mon! Take this fucker down!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Willis engaged in poor judgement and the judge called it out. Was the right call to keep her on this prosecution.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

I agree. She is a piece of crap that should not be re-elected.

And she should be kept on this case, and I very much hope she wins.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Sad, but most of the desired damage is done anyway. These accusations--and the judge's language in his ruling--taint the jury pool and the case. And it will allow the maga delusionalists to dismiss anything she says (not that they needed a reason to ignore reality, but this still gives them cover to feel justified in doing so in this case).

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The fact that she was investigated at all is utter bullshit and clear corruption.

Holy sycophant, Batman.

What did she do that was so bad and that can affect the case? What crime did she commit to warrant a investigation and be dragged through court?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for a fair question.

Hiring someone she was already sleeping with is incredibly cronyistic and unprofessional.

Also, as the judge points out, there are major questions about ethics, legality, and whether or not she or Wade profited from their collusion. Further, it taints the jury to some extent for sure, possibly even a lot. It also raises legal questions that place the entire case in jeopardy and opens the door for appeals.

She has to remove the guy she was involved with from the case, but this will not effect the case in any way. Neither would it have effected the case in any way if this whole situation was never an issue. However, pissing off the judge presiding over your case, is probably not the best plan.

They will be begging him for help next week.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I disagree. Anyone that thinks this kind of sleazy behavior doesn't impact this case is not being realistic.

Don't get me wrong. Trump's a piece of shit and I hope he goes to jail. Fani ain't clean either though, and anyone who pretends she is isn't being honest.

If it does have an impact on how it ends, being a completely separate case and having nothing to do with Trump and his crimes, then it was never justice. If a man murders someone and then the prosecutor has an affair or some shit, that should have zero impact on the murder trial, no matter who is removed.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, it's not a completely separate case from Trump's. As the judge pointed out in his ruling, it raises a lot of questions and concerns, and it really does impact Trump's case quite a lot. I suggest reading the ruling, or at least an article about why the judge is so pissed. Here's a short article on it, but the ruling is more detailed and has more information:

This should never have been a question.

Oof, this is tough for me. As a left-winger, I actually respect McAfee and I think it was worth investigating. Prosecutors often think the law doesn't apply to them. In this case, I think Willis and Wade were unethical, but I agree that disqualification wouldn't have been right.

That said, the idea that Willis, w/ the stupid amount of cash she makes, would orchestrate this for a "gravy train" of a few $10k over several yrs. That's right wing horseshit. She just thought rules don't apply to her.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

She shouldn't have given Trump such an easy target. Good God. Keep it together until after the trial.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It never was a real question. Everyone knew it was always bullshit. But drumpf is an expert at manipulating the intricacies of the legal system to his advantage.

2 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

No he's not. Everyone is afraid of making a "reversible decision" in judging and prosecuting his cases because he is a former president and there is no precedence to guide them. If Fani Willis was investigating me and my friends for RICO charges with the evidence she has, she could be sleeping with all her colleagues and my lawyers would never have gotten a hearing on the matter. The judge would have chastised my lawyers for digging into her personal life and ordered the trial continue.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I agree. So why DID she shouldn't have hire her boyfriend? Don't get me wrong. Trump's a piece of shit and I hope he goes to jail. Fani ain't clean either though, and anyone who pretends she is isn't being honest.

He's a subject matter expert who was doing it for less than he normally gets paid. The state was in fact getting the deal, perhaps because she was personally involved with him.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are a lot of subject matter experts out there. An elected official shouldn't hire the one she's fucking in a unilateral decision under highly suspect circumstances.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Yeah but getting one who will work for government wages often means not getting an actual expert. You're right that it would have looked better if it was pro bono if there was a personal connection.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Agreed. He could have done it for the public good ("pro bono"). And yeah, some people won't work for government wages. Some people really will, though, too, because they care about serving the public.

In his case, if he's actually good, he could have just done it for the press and promotional value of being the first prosecutor to ever get a guilty verdict on a President.

This entire thing was very short-sighted and very, very, immature.

Much as I hate the orange turd she should be removed from office for this. She hired someone she was having an affair with as her subordinate and she gave him money. That's one hell of a conflict of interest. She lied about when the relationship started and made up some insane story to cover for the money she was giving him.

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 13

Per the judge, there was no ACTUAL conflict of interest or ACTUAL negative towards the case, which is why she's being allowed to continue on the case, and her being disciplined/having conditions for continuing at all stems from the heightened scrutiny that DAs are under in Georgia (where even the APPEARANCE of impropriety is not acceptable, which is what the judge says happened here - an APPEARANCE of impropriety, not ACTUAL impropriety.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It isn't about the conflict of interest. She BROKE the rules. Any state employee has gone through sexual harassment training, having a relationship with a subordinate is one of those things every single training says is WRONG!. This is ACTUAL IMPROPRIETY. SHE'S A PROSECUTOR! She's a representative of the legal system. She knows the rules. This shows a complete lack of respect for the rule of law which she's sworn to uphold, that's why she should be removed.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ahhhhh. Yeah, I wouldn't mind if we held all prosecutors to an even stricter level of behavior. Hell, Judges too, including SCOTUS. With great power comes great responsibility, etc., etc. I would definitely roll my eyes if we started with the black woman who broke a rule about appearing to be (without actually being) biased because some Trumpians are hooting for severe consequences. I'd rather focus ousting efforts on folks who break rules that have actual negative effects on justice, too.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If we give her a pass on her behavior we're saying its fine as long as we get what we want. Will this give bias in the case? No. We already see the disparities in the justice system. What we are seeing is another case case where someone in power is being given a pass because its convenient for the existing power structure. One should consider the same act in a different set of circumstances. If this was a male with a female and it was just a traffic ticket would your response be the same?
