In modern times, to do this (which you can), get your workplace to deduct taxes from your pay by filling the exempt form in HR and letting them know you will pay your own.
Dont spent that tax money! Deduct it from pay and put it aside so it's there when the taxman come after you. Take them to court and inform judge you aren't skipping tax but withholding it until you get fair REPRESENTATION.

When you get hired, you file a particular tax form that allows the company to deduct income taxes on your behalf (THIS IS WHAT YOU VOLUNTEER FOR). You have the right to opt out of it and pay taxes on your own. People do it all the time.
Stop paying & withholding tax are 2 very different concept. You are not refusing to pay. You are withholding pay until you have fair representation from your government.

You do have the right to opt out of that and pay taxes on your own, and as long as you pay. The government doesn't care if you pay or the company pays on your behalf.
That form is called a tax withholding form, but just to be clear. It doesn't sound like that's what you're talking about. You're talking about withholding taxes until you get representation, and that's not gonna work.
The government will view it exactly the same as not paying them, and it will hurt.
