I recently saw a report--insects found as high as 22k feet. The tortoiseshell butterfly. But that's in the Himalayas... so, just flying normal height, just near a very high place. But then... "Termites have been collected via aircraft at 19,000 feet (5,790 meters)." Ummm... how the hell does an aircraft collect an insect?
PILOT: "Oh, crap! A termite hit my windshield. An annoying blob right in my field of vision. It's going to drive me crazy til we land!"
COPILOT: "Not switching seats." 😅

#1 Why do they need a stand? To intentionally waste battery life?

Exactly. I’ve been saying for awhile we need a dating app for introverted nerds.

I had boo for a short while before I met my partner. Didnt bother putting a picture up on it.. turns out he had seen me on boo and was like.. streamer girl.. no picture, 29? Yike. Some people just don't look good on paper. I left the house maybe twice a week back then. Feels like he jumped through my window tbh. Best friend met her bf in ffxiv, lectured him on the game, met him a year later irl at a con. Some things just.. happen weirdly.

#2 but did they pay HDMI the royalties owed for using the connector?

I prefer display port to chicken noodle soup coverters.

I have wondered about #42 more than a few times. Like what about bees?
They can see UV flowers or some shit. Why wander around, why not spy out some primo flower beds from above?
Why not zoom up a couple hundred feet and get a birds ey… oh, because there’s lots of birds up there. So those bees probably don’t last too long.

I found a set of AirPods. I was kinda surprised that they offered zero information about the owner, or even a serial number. I called Apple to see if they could help locate the owner. Nope. So now I have a pristine set of AirPods that know they don't belong to me. How useless.

#11 is not so weird considering that we say "5 dollars [and] 30 [cents]" - they're just enumerating units and subunits.

In old English units you'd say "ten shillings and sixpence" (the price tag on the Mad Hatter's hat)

#6 I never thought of it as suicide. I thought he was being hanged—ostensibly by a sheriff, but possibly by an out-of-control mob who will realize what they’ve done when they’ve sobered up physically & psychologically. In the former case, I was always silently wondering what the man had done to deserve this fate. In the latter, I wondered how many nights the townsfolk woke up screaming, haunted by the memory of what they’ve done, as they slowly took their shameful, shared secret to their graves.
Deshalope
That's the first game of hangman. The ones afterwards are about the people from the crowd hanging themselves.

Some species of Butterflies regularly fly about 6000km high. Bugs have been found even higher than that, but probably at that point carried by air currents, not really flying.

That is… 1/10th of the way to the moon.
heptadecagram
I can go twice as high as that

ISS orbits at ~400km. Doubt.
CrushBug
I think you might want to check your units there, because I think that 10 km is around 32,000 feet, and the ISS orbits around 400 km, so those butterflies sound terrifying.
bittenicht39
You mean 6 km aka 6000 meters. Not 6000 km where there is no air to fly in.
TheBlueMuppet
Sir, the Monarchs are passing the Kármán line, we think this is their final push past low orbit
ihateimgurffs
I first typed 6k m, then I changed it to 6000 m, then I changed it to 6km, then I thought meters would be better than that, and changed it to 6000km... How is your day going?

#11 there was a employee @ Netflix during Umbrella Academy that used 200$ ...I blocked them immediately.
