That reminds me of the intro sequence to that old show, North of 60. Any other Canadians remember watching that?

Does your Dad always water mark his photos?
Yes
t3h90
Smart man
Indeed.
CityNatureScienceArt
That is a damn fine photo! He could sell prints on Etsy or Redbubble.
I keep telling him that!
People love that stuff. It reminds me of camping with family.
Maybe show him similar options for sale there to give hime a sense of what prints go for. Or maybe selling takes the fun out of it for him.
if that is the case, no sense pushing it. But it is a beautiful pict

I never get to see this
It's a beautiful thing. It doesn't look like this to the naked eye. But what the naked eye sees when this is taken is still breathtaking.

Your dad took the milky way? Well tell him to give it back! It doesn't belong to him!!!
@OP ask him for the ISO exposure time, and number of frames for me please :)

Tripod, $1000+ camera, 1000+ ISO, 1-3 min. exposure, nbd. Beautiful shot, though; well composed.
A 1 to 3 minute exposure will cause star trails, I've done it
As have I. I mean, they didn’t for me, but that notwithstanding, a +1.2 exposure in Lightroom with a 30 sec exp is even more effective.
keyqueen
I second that
You bet I will!

Your dad could legit sell pictures like these
I know! He doesn't even try... And there's many more he's got!

Agreed, I'm a decent photographer but my attempts at this sort of photo have been total garbage. This is fantastic.
