Well, Mussolini was elected as PM, Hitler was appointed Chancellor, Stalin, Kim Il-Sung & Pol Pot were General Secretary, Mao was Chairman, so that leaves him to contend with Idi Amin, Augusto Pinochet, Saddam Hussein, and Robert Mugabe. TBH you *REALLY* don't want him to be topping that list.

You're right. Tbh, I should delete my comment.

Didn’t watch the news about the “parade”. Did hardly anyone show up? That. Would be fucking hilarious (aside from the incredible waste of money).

1 year ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Turns out most people aren't down for a north korean-style military parade that is nothing more than a thinly veiled appeal to Orange Hitler's ego. Go figure.

It's interesting. I'm in Australia and googled no king's protest and the first article to come up was from USA today, and every image was of violence. Yet every image I've seen elsewhere is just of peaceful marching of people carrying signs. I don't really know USA today as a newspaper - is it normally like that?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We don't really have any reliable mainstream news in America as far as I've seen. They care about ratings and money over everything else.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As an example, the MSM is still pushing der Fuhrer's birthday parade as being solely to celebrate the Army, and when they talk about Israel's attacks on Iran, they're *heavily* pushing the narrative that Israel is doing it in self-defense, and only showing Netanyahu talking about aaaaaaall the nuclear targets they're hitting (despite the fact that, out of 150 strikes, only 13 were nuclear targets).

The so-called "liberal media" has been showing its right-wing bias much more obviously, of late.

Canada has a king. Is Canada the problem?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Around 5% of my city's populace showed up today

1 year ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

To which one?

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No kings. And it was actually 6% around 6000 people

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Good. Was thinking that if it was the other one your city would have to be quite small lol.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Small city of 100k ish

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

For reference, the other parade got a number of attendees of roughly 8% of your city population *overall*. Hence why I was joking that if you meant the other one, your city would have been most of them. So yeah, I'd say that was a good number. Good!

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is utterly delightful. Well done to those who attended. (The no kings obviously :) )

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty leary when something fits my own wishes so much as low turnout for his parade. Even propaganda pandering to me needs to be treated with skepticism. I can't really find for sure. AP says 200k attendees, others say 80k. So, maybe?

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

From what I understand, the 200k number was supposed to be the *expected* turnout, but the actual number was ~80k.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Whining "it's hard!"
They still do. They all go home pretty much immediately when the cops push back.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They probably voted. 75million people is a lot of people. The protest has a lot of people but visually only represents maybe 1.5% at the most of the total voting pool. I would say a good majority of them did vote blue and those who didn't might skew towards it next mid term if this shit show that's been the trump 2024 regime somehow keeps getting worst and worst. (every week the bar keeps on getting lower)

Was the parade for congressman or for servicemembers? Where were the Democrat congress people? Oh I know at the silly protests of the left protesting a parade than had 0% to do with Trump's birthday and 100% about celebrating the US Army. This servicemember and plenty of other servicemembers I've talked to enjoyed the parade from afar.

My husband (Army, 7 years of service and 2 tours in Afghanistan) def does not agree! There is nothing “silly” about protests that push back against a law and constitution breaking President. That is called patriotic duty and responsibility. He took an oath “ I will support and defend the CONSTITUTION of the United States against ALL enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC ; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;” There’s no end date on that oath either! He still takes it very seriously!

1 year ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 1

Was your veteran husband protesting while the Biden Administration was sneaking 10 - 12 million immigrants into the US or was he sitting on his ass?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah were not really threatened by immigrants to the point of protesting. We save ourselves for President’s who threaten to run for not legally allowed 3rd terms, or a secretary of defense that uses not approved public apps to discuss active attack plans with a reporter included, or wants to suspend habeaus corpus, or put billionaires who throw nazi salutes on stage in control of decisions about major govt agencies, who totally ignore supreme court rulings, who activate STATE national guards ETC

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So it sounds like you protest when Republicans do things you don't like but.. you sit on you ass when Democrats do equally if not worse things. How unsurprisingly politically convenient for you.

LMK when the left has a "The Emporer has no clothes" protest. They conveniently didn't hold one for Biden even though it was abundantly clear for months if not years to those with eyes. :)

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right, it was to "celebrate the army" who are, according to trumps own words, "suckers and losers." It had nothing to do with him? He's never done or said anything that ISNT about him. The no king protest was not protesting a parade. It was protesting someone who spits in the face of how our government actually works. Finally, it isn't surprising that your "plenty of service members" agree with you....because you obviously only asked people in your group of like-minded (bigoted) individuals.

1 year ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

lol, plenty of people thay also worked close to Trump said the complete opposite of Kelly's BS "losers and suckers" quote. Here's two people for you LTG HR McMaster's who was one of Trump's National Security Advisors and Respected Journalist Bob Woodward. In Woodward's book "Fear" he had the following quotes.. "Afterward, when Trump had phone calls with others from the military who had been killed, the White House staff noticed how hard and tough it seemed for him. “He’s not that guy,” ..

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Bannon said. “He’s never really been around the military. He’s never been around military family. Never been around death.” The deaths of parents of small kids struck him particularly hard. “That had a big impact on him, and it’s seen throughout everything.”

A staffer who sat in on several calls made to gold star families was struck by how much time and emotional energy devoted to them. He had a copy of material from the deceased service member’s personnel file. “I’m looking at his picture...

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neither, it was for Trump's own birthday.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Considering he's been wanting this since the first time he was in the White House, it's pretty clear that this parade is for *him*, and the 250th anniversary of the Army was just an excuse to justify it.

If the 250th anniversary had been on the 15th, does anyone *really* believe the parade would have been today, instead of on his birthday? What if the anniversary had been on the 7th? Or the 21st?

What if had been *May* 14th? Would there have even *been* a parade?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

LOL, If the parade was about Trump's Birthday then why wasn't ABOUT TRUMP'S BIRTHDAY? Since when has Trump had problem celebrating himself?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did Trump ride in the parade or was it men and women in military uniform?

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The anti-trump parades around the the country were a yuge success. Very bigly. Millions of attendees. Huge crowds. The ratings were through the roof. Trump could only dream of attracting crowds that large. He couldn't even get 200k people to go to his pathetic birthday parade.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I guess to some it's more important to whine about Trump than it is to celebrate servicemembers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only the dumbest of the dumb believe that parade was about the service members. That whole parade was about Trump stroking his own pathetic ego and it failed miserably. The stands were mostly empty. It was pathetic. Even Trump looked like he hated being there.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol, I watched the ENTIRE parade. Point to which POINT of the parade there was ANY mention of Trump's birthday. It wasn't well attended at least partially because the left was having a virtue signaling party for themselves instead of celebrating the ACTUAL heroes that are WORTH celebrating.

"Only the dumbest of the dumb.." believe that the SJWs of this country are the true patriots of this country but it's not THAT SURPRISING when most of the left went along with putting a Zombie as POTUS.

Vegas even showed up like this today. Vegas has had a slowly growing number of protestors for months now but historically its a rather politically inactive city from my experience. The turnout there today was *stunning*. I hope it continues.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

I mean it's still got shit leadership aside from the mayor of Boise, but it's nice to remember that even the reddest states have ~30% blue voters that are stuck there for one reason or another - or just don't want to completely yield the ground to the crazies forever. It feels like drowning sometimes, but days like today are nice for seeing that we're not quite as alone as it feels.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My sibling is there somewhere -

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very cool! Decent odds I saw them while I was looking through the crowd at all the amazing signs and shirts and smiling faces. It was a good day to be out in Boise.

Need to pivot this momentum in a trump removal event.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Protests are like exercise. You want to always be in good shape, but most of us have gotten sedentary in our civic duty. The growing size and energy of these protests is a starting place, not an end, and it's helping people strengthen the muscles that have gone weak from disuse. I too hope that the end result is change, but I know it will not be immediate. I hope we can mitigate the damage done in the meantime. I really do.

As someone not from the US, the only other time i have heard of Boise is in a fucking game about killing walking turds with a Cool S shaped blade during a Potato Festival, so the fact that this had a turnout this big is significant in itself.

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

I think my brain short-circuited at "Cool S shaped blade".

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I won't say a lot of nice things about Idaho, but Boise is tolerable, and most of the sanest people cluster there (and the surrounding valley of towns that gradually merge into it) as the population center for the state. Most of the time we are in the news, it's NOT for good things. Except that one time with the goats, that one was fine.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As an Aussie, I have met a surprisingly large amount of really good people in the tech space from Boise.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, both HP and Micron have large work forces here (including myself, off and on), and several other tech companies have branches here far larger than you'd expect given the population. Until fairly recently, it was a very inexpensive place to live so remote workers liked to come here from more expensive places and enjoy the perks of a high wage in a low cost-of-living location.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Idaho afaik is notoriously right leaning as far as elections go

1 year ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

There's a movement called "Greater Idaho" which is many people of Eastern Oregon (borders Idaho to the west and quite rural and therefore conservative) who are trying to expand the borders of Idaho into much of Oregon because they don't believe Oregon's liberal politics (dominated by the larger cities in the western part of Oregon) align with their values. Idaho is also where many Republican politicians fled to as a protest because they know they were going to lose voting on a bill (I think).

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah for how progressive of a reputation Oregon has, there are a lot of rural towns that scare the hell out of me, even as a tall, cishet white dude. White supremacy flags of many styles freely flying in a lot of places just off of the main road.
