I can smell it from here. Argued with sis-in-law, she insisted those were crickets. Was stepping on them and blaming the dogs for smell.

Narvesus carolinensis, aka, Assassin Bug. They can give you Chagas disease, which is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. Horrible.
