By their argument, you would also open the door to anyone promoting securities to say whatever. Or a lawyer to give knowingly bad legal advice. Or a doctor to prescribe leeches to fix you broken leg. It's a consumer protection law they want overturned on the basis of free speech.

This kinda shit is why so many European nations don't enshrine an all encompassing "free speech" in law like the US. It opens the door to malicious actors abusing that codified right more than it helps protect anyone. Instead we opt to identify and protect specific types of speech which can be identified as beneficial or at least not harmful to anyone without having this constant fight over what is speech and how bad things should get before you can restrict it.

If your "right to pursue happiness" infringes on another person's rights, then it's illegal. Case closed. Conversion therapy shouldn't just be banned. It should be considered a crime that has heavy punishments involved.
