How is the Montero? I briefly looked at them for an overland build
SergeyPrkl
Just came from a short 1500km trip, had even the awning set up on a C rails that are fixed only with magnets!

I like it. they tend to rust but i managed to avoid that. It obviously isn't anything like the legends, but it does the overlanding very well. This one is the diesel one and i had to replace the dieselpump, and it is extremely expensive, now 2000 euros, if not more just for the part. But i managed to replace it before the prices went up and paid 1000e. Got a regular 2meter matress in rear with elevated floor, and under the bed six storage boxes. Auxiliary heater too (i live close arctic circle)

The 4x4 system is pretty solid, and handles even tighter spots well. The diferential locking is prone to vacuum leaks and needs attention sometimes if driven offroad regularly. But on the road, i think it is one of the most comfortable and smooth genuine offroaders ever made, it is a true Overlander, handles offroad but is not a trial monster. Doesn't use that much fuel either, good mileage, 8-9 liters per 100km ie 25-30mpg.
Faaaaantastic
Cool! What do you do for work? Beats my sterile office environment

I used to work in a healthcare setting and we had a grill outback that I would use constantly.
Faaaaantastic
When I worked in aviation we had the same setup! But unfortunately do not have the same circumstances with my new gig. It has its own pros though, like I dont have to work a swing shift anymore.
SergeyPrkl
I do have possibility to distance working too. But i like to drive to the office. Summertime i might camp in places, that's why i had the food stuff with me.
SergeyPrkl
We do have a grill here too. But honestly, i just forgot my lunchbox, so had to make something. Had some beef patties and buns etc. in my car fridge :D
