Well, despite all our best efforts, we lost. No shelter to take us, no vouchers to help, and exhausted aid. We're on the sidewalk wondering what's next - can still stay, but there's no funding available.
Just want to thank all those of you who've helped & upvoted here - for those that haven't messaged me at some point.

UPDATE: the officer(s) that came to "escort" us off property happened to have the case worker that we've been working with and she and the other two present cobbled together enough for us to stay another night, plus half of what we need tomorrow - they also helped move the things back in that I'd already moved out
Immediately afterwards I had an appointment with a little known & not quite out of the way organization that has its own shelter system & housing assistance - they need us to

come back in the morning to fill out volumes of paperwork and see exactly what and how they can help - was told it can be a lengthy process but hastening that was in the cards
we also picked up dog food at a different shelter for the service animals and discovered yet one more unlisted gem for assisting the homeless & lower income: a place that tutors bicycle maintenance w/free workstations for your own bike AND free bicycles as needed to help with employment & such

Unfortunately, I am not in a position to offer any monetary assistance. The following statements are completely unrelated to your predicament. Zillow (and other real estate websites) contains a list of houses for sale. Some of them may currently be unoccupied and may have been on the market for an extended period of time. It might take the owners a long time to find out if a person were squatting there on some of those properties.

The founder of Pink Spade was homeless when he founded the non-profit. Now he has housing and is helping others in his community.
Founding a non-profit isn't terribly hard, though it does take a small amount of money to do, and a tiny bit of know how that you can get from youtube videos. Grant writing can take a bit of time though.
But it is a possible way forward for you.

we're looking up that kind of thing starting earlier on Monday when it was clear this was a real possibility - I'm also writing this experience in addition to a helpful guide to 211 and local resources that's sorely lacking - having a huge list of numbers to call can be all too daunting and those answering 211 aren't always aware of what's all available

it's 470, when we do daily it's only a seventh of it instead of a higher rate, thankfully
it's also about a third of what we'd be paying monthly (with utility estimations included, mandatory insurance, & water/garbage) at the place we're trying to get into

it looks like four days @ 67.15/day if the meeting today went as great as it sounds... FOUND A PLACE THAT CAN/WILL HELP
We started a housing process that can take a while, nothing new to us there... but they are reaching out to their partners to get covering up to three months of temporary housing until their housing program kicks in. We find out additional details at 3 eastern on Monday

having today covered also allowed us leisure to manage that meeting timely, hit a food bank, and make corrections to my ID at the DMV, so much MORE gets done without that morning stress that often takes half the day up

daily is 67.15, and I wish I knew how long the place will take - I'll find out this morning, but I do know the longest would be the 31st when we're can pay the application & lease initiation fees with the disability deposit. An absurdly long period of time to ask anywhere but an agency that provides assistance for help with.

On the other hand, making it through the weekend would give me the time to get ahead of things, find some day jobs I could manage until the interviews from earlier this week produce results. But today is taken care of so I am heading off to that appointment in an hour and will know more then.

I discovered the storage unit sale is this afternoon, but am writing that off as a loss, I can replace the clothing, baking, & kitchen things. Items from my late grandmother no one wanted - mostly 50's Christmas decor. We've lost more in an earlier unit's loss & have most of what we NEED here.
Don't know why I'm putting this here, just have to "say" it aloud with a perverse & vain kind of hope & I'll miss baking for others in a real kitchen once finally moved - BUT shelter NOW is far more vital
