So the game is still in the early design phase, but I am very excited to continue working on it. There will be tons of Imgur inside jokes and little easter eggs. Any and all input would be extremely helpful! Turning Imgur into an RPG will be quite the task.

Not bad. I was working on a game as well a while ago (completed day/night system and other quirks), but it's been put on hold.

Day/Night is always complicated. You basically have to do your game twice if you plan on having a good day/night system.

Not to mention having to do switch checking for every single map you make.

Depends on implementation but for sprite based games, yea it is a pain.

Depends on how "Real" you want to make it. If you want every NPC to have a different cycle for night/day... it will be time consuming.

Yea. My game was in 3d real time so all the lighting effects was done for me. I just needed to change colors based on time of day (1/2)

Wow! Not bad at all! Coloring is one thing. But eventing NPCs to do different things for day/night is a whole other story.
