So I recently met this man named Ian (aka Ianxplosion). We started chatting randomly about 2 weeks ago, and I seriously have talked to him every day since. He is a witty, fun-loving, straight up genuine guy.
Quite recently, he went through some really tough times. Long story short, a new promotion at his job overstressed him causing a slight mental break. While trying to find a way to manage his stress, he ended up quitting his job and losing his long-term girlfriend. He gave her the house they built together and found a place to stay while he figures out where to go from here.
The Post That Started It All
As an avid World of Warcraft and South Park Fan, when blizzard announced the new patch to scale monsters to your level, he wrote a shitpost on Reddit saying that if they dropped it the next day he would level a new character 1 to 60 killing only boars, as they do in one episode of SouthPark.
To his surprise, blizzard actually dropped it the next day. And he is not one to bamboozle. True to his word, he has been leveling a dwarf true too Cartman Style, and is currently sitting at almost 30.
In his words, he is currently living his dream. This is something that he has always wanted to do since back in the days of VHS, where he would record himself narrating himself playing video games. And I'm so happy for him, because he needed something good to happen.
The first few days went wonderfully, his excitement palpable in the conversations he's having with the chat as he trucks along from boar to boar.
News sites picked up his story and got the hype out for him, and the excitement level skyrocketed even higher. Affiliated through Twich within the first two days of his stream, he began put in actual work on his stream, making sure that anybody who decided to tune in enjoyed themselves. Calling his followers Boar Scouts, he has accumulated quite the crowd who returned daily just to enjoy his conversation.
But in that way that life likes to carry on, the good times couldn't stay. Troubles with his landlord have put him in a situation where he may get evicted by the end of this week. Continuing his Crusade through pure optimism, he has decided to do a 36-hour stream to finish his leveling before he may have to leave. Because as I said before, he does not bamboozle.
