(Nobody was hurt thankfully)

But EVERYONE has a right to a gun. Even that guy. (Satire) So, if he gets kicked off the range, you now have a careless asshole who owns a gun and has no opportunities to learn or stay proficient.

Damn near double tapped the janitor. Hope that fool got forever banned. People at public ranges scare me

Ok, hot brass dow your back sucks, but WHO THE F doesn't put their weapon down before doing the Looney-Tunes dance?! Too bad he didn't blow a toe off.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Darwin award to the boys downstairs would have been the best outcome.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was at a gun range and my pistol jammed. I put it down, facing down down range, and called the Range Master over. First thing he does, is pick it up and look down the barrel. Not kidding. This was in Michigan.

1 week ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

If I were that sweeper there would be absolutely nothing (short from actually shooting me) anyone could do to stop me from beating that idiot to death right then and there.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Or at least cramming that broom handle up his ass so far that his feet won't be able to touch the ground anymore.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wait! Did he discharge the gun as he swung it back behind him? What the actual fuck

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes, it fired twice

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ive been to the range a few times. Once, a casing bounced off the side and hit me in the temple. Freaked me out forna sec, but gun down, always pointed down range. Jeez people.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

we had a moron like this at my range years ago. he got litteraly dragged out by 3 guys before he got his second excuse out and the owner immediatly started calling every other range in a 100 mile radius to ban him as well. turned out he went to the police station because he got dragged out. he then found out 2 of the guys dragging him were cops.

Jayzus H.W. Schmidt!
What a complete moron.

Life long ban for being an idiot.

1 week ago | Likes 304 Dislikes 1

That shouldn't be a ban, that should be two charges of criminal negligence, and potential loss of the right to own a firearm and certainly fines.

1 week ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 2

Potential? Shouldn't own one to begin with

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You should be made to stay for a lengthy classroom gun safety session after this, then start your banishment.

Am I wrong, or did he actually discharge that gun twice?

6 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You are not wrong. Two negligent discharges in one.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’ve had hot brass cartridges go down my cleavage and I still had the presence of mind to set my weapon down (pointing down range) before shaking it out of my bra.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(I move away from the mic to breathe in)

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same! I still have a little T scar on my nipple in certain light. But this is insane behavior

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That flash when he was fishing for the casing. Was it just a reflection of light or was it a gun discharging?

1 week ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 2

You can run it in slow motion with the slider below the video.

You’ll see the firearm discharge, and then the strap to the case at the left side of his feet “jump” after the bullet deflects off the right side partition and strikes it (the strap).

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't tell - is that his own casing, or from next door (that goes down his back)?

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It's his own. If you watch carefully after he fires, you can see it travelling up and to the right before bouncing off the partition.

1 week ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

His. You can barely make out the rebound.

1 week ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

That happened to me in the army: we had to stand behind the soldier who was shooting and collect all the empty shells. One shell flew towards me but I lost sight of it ... until I felt it burning on my chest!

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good thing it wasn’t this guy it’s you’d have two IN your chest as well

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We were promised that we could shoot with a Bren gun. But they eventually decided against it: they could not guarantee that the gun would stop if you released the trigger ...

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Happened to me too in the army, though in my case the shell was from my own gun and pounced off a tree to land between my glasses and my eye. But I also didnt flail my gun around after it like this guy

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have had a hot casing go down my back. Reaching around with my left to get it to fall out while holding my gun with the right, finger on the trigger. The gun stayed down range, I'm guessing, and nothing happened. I was kicking myself for not putting down the gun and thinking this could have been bad but those casings are fuckin' hot and I was just riding on reflex.

1 week ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

That's an ND that'll get you kicked out of a range.

1 week ago | Likes 342 Dislikes 0

This should send you to jail.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

should get you arrested. you almost killed someone on camera

1 week ago | Likes 112 Dislikes 1

Seriously. I worked in a stunt show at an amusement park with revolvers that were literally unable to fire actual projectiles, but could fire blanks. One guy had an ND with that and he got fired day of. Technically suspended pending investigation, but we all knew.

1 week ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Good. Even blanks should be treated with the same respect as a loaded (or unloaded) firearm.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can someone explain why it's negligent? As far as I can tell the shell just bounced funny into his shirt. What did he do wrong? All the other comments are just calling him an idiot and I legit don't understand why lol

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

He points the gun backwards while messing with his shit and almost shoots the guy with the broom

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Watch the gun as he's shaking his shirt. You can see the fire from the barrel as it looks like it shoots at least twice behind him/at the floor.

They used to be called AD (accidental discharge) but ND is a more accurate and onerous term.

1 week ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's also shorthand for nuerodivergent and they can't have the whole workforce in the US realize it's ND and therefore legally disabled and this having it's labor stolen again, or they'd have a real problem on their hands

1 week ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 1

I’m not sure about this video, but I’ve been to a gun range once and was clearly warned that the hot bullet shell can land in my shirt and I’d need to calmly put the gun down before shaking it out. It eventually happened, I followed the instructions calmly, all was well. No reason to panic and get the shell out right away, it’s not going to burn you or anything. I really hope this video is fake.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe not this exact video, but we can all agree this exact scenario has happened somewhere and will happen again.

1 week ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

There's also a suspicious amount of holes missing in the floor after he "fired" straight down.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Something similar happened at the range I use, and he shot himself in the ass if I remember. So I’m inclined to believe it’s real.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes. And a warning that when you visit a gun range, you’re only as safe as the least safety-minded guy around you.

1 week ago | Likes 87 Dislikes 1

Which is why I refused to go with my dad. One dumb son of a bitch. Just thankful my mom wouldnt let him have guns in the house while my sisters and I were growing up. Didnt know (or check) if a gun was loaded, finger always on the trigger, frequently pointing everywhere but downrange. Just scary.

1 week ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

just curious, but how are you able to verify that the video is real? it looks fake to me

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

What about it looks fake?

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Someone being careless with a deadly weapon, I'd guess. Unfortunately these idiots and their dangerous antics are all too real; ask pretty much *anyone* who regularly visits a range, and they'll always have at least a couple of stories about these kinds of people.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've been to a private gun range once, small place 3 lanes. Some guy was talking hotstuff for an hour, I was only barely paying attention. But the moment that guy left, everyone in the building began shittalking what he was waffling about.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there seemed to be a bit of recoil the first time he shot, but then the recoil vanished when he shot back. I also am automatically suspicious of short clips, since short clips are overrun with ai. Lastly, there's almost a blurry/smoothing factor on the footage that also made me think maybe it's ai.

I can say with confidence it doesn't look real to me, and I'm sure you can say with confidence it looks real to you. And I guess that's revealing a bigger problem.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Zero recoil and no reaction from the guy walking past. I'm guessing not. I'm no expert, though.

1 week ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 9

It's a well known incident.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The gun range employee .. with heavy war protection, is not startled by guns going off at the gun range?

What?

1 week ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

WHAT?

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You can actually see the recoil after every shot. Not sure about the muzzle flashes

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

The guy working is wearing ear protection and hearing gunshots is not at all strange. He probably didn't see the guy swing the gun behind his back and fire it and if he wasn't hit he probably didn't even notice right away

1 week ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 1

From my military experience large caliber rounds into concrete causes chips and bullet fragments to fly. There's no way the guy wouldn't have noticed.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That's probably how they knew to check the Camera. "Sir, why are there bullets behind you?"

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sure. That MUST be all the proof required here.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That’s one way to have a range master beat your ass…

1 week ago | Likes 671 Dislikes 0

Theoretical: if a dude did this and no one got hurt except for what the range master did to this dumbass by opening every door with his face, and then he pressed charges - would this video exonerate you to a judge? I can't think of a jury on the planet that would convict, but a judge might have to.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The gray hoodie guy could face charges for reckless endangerment with a firearm depending on state law. Gross misdemeanor, up to a year in jail and a cash fine. With that hanging over his head I doubt he would file charges in the theoretical situation.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The one time I went to a gun range, a guy set up on the aisle next to us, got his gun all assembled and loaded, and THEN decided he wanted to be down a few aisles. So he just picked up his full-loaded gun and started casually strolling down to the other end.

Even with my hearing protection, the RSO's rebuke was startlingly loud.

1 week ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Should be 1 month mandatory jail for accidental discharge of a firearm.

1 week ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gross misdemeanor in most states I believe. Up to a year in jail. And this would fit the bill.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reckless endangerment with a firearm that is.

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No such thing as an “accidental discharge” its negligence plain and simple.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What mistake did he do that originally let that shell rebound?

1 week ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

Wearing the hoodie was the mistake

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The cartridge landing in his hoodie was pure chance. When they eject they just fly out.

1 week ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Most people learn when it lands on the hand or arm. It's uncomfortable, but nothing to shoot wildly about. That dude is an idiot. The table is right there. Set it down, use both hands, nobody dies.

1 week ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

The rebound of the spent casing was not the result of an error. Bouncing off walls and nearby objects, they can deflect into the darndest places.

Handgun casings aren’t too bad. The ones ejected from automatic rifles in .223 REM and up will instantly sear bare skin.

If they get into the crack between your eye protection and face, they can easily cook an eye.

Something to think about proactively to “close gaps” in your clothing & gear before shooting.

1 week ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I don’t think there was any original mistake, really, except wearing a hoodie. Then he decided to chase live brass around with a loaded gun and his finger on the trigger which is a couple of bad calls in a row. Always put the damn gun down when something unexpected happens! You never accidentally shoot people if you’re not holding a gun.

1 week ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The shell going down his back wasn’t the issue. When he was trying to get it out, he had the gun in his hand, pointed it in a direction other than down range and in the movement of attempting to extract it fired off two shots behind him.

1 week ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 1

and having no trigger discipline at all

1 week ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Muzzle discipline. Laying the weapon down on the table should have been the first thing he did.

1 week ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

But after that, trigger discipline should have kicked in. Not ready to shoot = finger not on trigger.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Have been in this situation before. Pistol down, facing down range then clear your shirt jeans. Anyone whose instinct in not to put the firearms down first isn't ready to be handling it. Irs the first thing taught when getting alicense here

1 week ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Nah. Everyone needs to beat that dude’s ass. The sweeper was lucky he didn’t get popped.

Dude needs to be given a toy gun until he can learn proper gun safety.

1 week ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an RSO ... can confirm ... and a life-time ban.

1 week ago | Likes 91 Dislikes 0

Could you please explain why ? I dont see him doing any thing wrong the Shell flew unlucky and bounced but where was it his fault ?

1 week ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait … you don’t see him SHOOTING behind himself in an unsafe direction? You’re fucking with me, right? No one is that clueless.

While on a firing range all weapons MUST be only pointed in a safe direction, typically down the firing lane. Even accidentally pointing a firearm anywhere else is grounds for expulsion.

In this case it was compounded when he caused two negligent discharges while pointing the firearm in an unsafe direction, endangering everyone else on the range.

1 week ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No didnt in the first view but now I saw it how he shoot twice behind him like someone that should never ever hold a gun again i hope the cleaning guy is ok
