A small change in global average temperatures will widen and flatten the bell curve of temperatures, not just shift it a little bit hotter. In equatorial latitudes every 10 years might bring a heatwave that lasts 3 days with temperatures hot enough to kill all the plants and kill all the seeds in the grounds. They won't be cooked, they'll be pasteurized. Lower temp but for a long time will kill a seed. 3 days of high temps will kill a seed.
