Just FYI: in the US we don’t even have to elect Presidents (like Ford) or Senators which are often appointed by Governors. Literally only the US House of Representatives has a body that is required to be elected, and only some of the US citizens (not territories and DC) have either Senators or Representatives in the US Congress. Democracy isn’t a bad idea but the USA has yet to try it

I had to look this up since I am on medicaid. In my state (Ohio) - federal funding accounts for 30% of medicaid funds. They predict about 60k people will lose healthcare coverage as a work requirement will be in place for medicaid. There are 3 million people in my state on medicaid.
Personally, I am self-employed and make enough to pay taxes every year, I am not sure if this will count for the work requirement. There are a bunch of other things that are up in the air, effects are unclear.

I disagree. The GOP tried VERY hard to replace trump with someone, anyone else. No one else was able to generate the same 'charisma' as trump and get the base fired up.
Vance is a garbage politician whose only route to more power depended on him hitching his wagon to trump and wouldn't have anywhere near the base as trump.
