I honestly did not know that you could do that with wood. Tile or concrete, sure, but I assumed wood got that color because it was rotting.

in many cases it's just the top layer of wood that has gotten bleached by the Suns UV. But it works best with tropical hardwood like Teak.
Is the wood in the gif teak?
Judging from the silverish gray color of the dry area and the reddish brown of the washed area i think so. Common in good garden furniture.

it's all in how much psi is coming through - it's a pretty large diameter water stream and a lot of water which usually = lower psi.
