Roommate says after 8 months that he can't handle my cat's hair

Roommate is allergic to cats, but he stays in my bedroom in our 3 bed townhouse. apparently the hair has just crept out into the house, and he has been sick nonstop, so now I have to do something with either the cat or both of us. I don't know if I can handle being without him. God this sucks.
