Do you have a suggestion for another 40k group/faction/individual that you'd like to see that isn't on the list? Leave a suggestion. One per person, please.

#10 I suppose this was a likely outcome.

#1 Cassia's aoe attacks were devastating. She didn’t get to use them very often though, because Kibellah would obliterate the entire battlefield on her turn

I should create a Rogue Trader character... out of a 12-year-old pauper boy (named Astrael Vecht) who one day showed up at the spaceport of some agro-world with a piece of paper with "wrnt ov trade" written on it in horribly mangled Low Gothic (and the smell of fried fish still clinging to the other side), to commandeer a small single-pilot freighter via sheer moxie.
'Wrnt ov trade'.
Signed: 'Empror ov Man.'

Go ahead, wear the Halo Device. Don't you want the power it will provide? Surely nothing bad will happen.

#9 - the real fun is playing a Rogue Trader, but your Warrant from the Time of the Emperor is signed with an 'H'

If only Owlcat understood that balancing an RPG against players cheesing mechanics didn't mean making the enemies impossible without cheese.
Lleonharte
this is such nonsense the game is easy the "builds" they had to balance made the game so trivial... why is there always someone like you lol
Rannath
At what point are their games impossible without cheese? On the difficulty NAMED Unfair?
GiveYourBallsATug69
I don't fully disagree, but imo Rogue Trader was waaaay easier than the Pathfinder games. The latter pretty much required a fully minmaxed party to have a good time, while RT made it fairly easy to get powerful and demolish everything. All classes have strong abilities and it's not too hard to respec (though I support removing the respec cost entirely).
CrisprCAS
Yeah, it's definitely better, but it's still not great in terms of balance. I don't particularly care, since I never play fair on single player games anyway, but when even I notice how bad it is... it's pretty bad.
Arcanum3000
I went back and forth between the two middle difficulties a few times, and ended up settling on the lower one. The next higher one just made combat super uneven IMO. Most combats were about the same, roughly every third combat one character would get downed, and then once in a blue moon I'd get a one-turn TPK out of nowhere. The lower difficulty was easy, but it was consistent.
GiveYourBallsATug69
Do you mean PF or RT? I played RT on the equivalent of Core, I forget the exact name. Having an Officer main makes a pretty big difference because of how much support it provides to the rest of the party. The NPCs with officer backgrounds aren't as customizable toward support. I found melee to be mostly underwhelming when ranged/casters barely even have to move to clear rooms. Abelard does become a juggernaut eventually, but it takes a little while.
Arcanum3000
Sorry, Rogue Trader. Psychic Operative main. IIRC, I tried both Normal and Daring difficulties. Cassia in particular would wipe rooms of normal enemies pretty easily. I'd use melee for drilling hard targets by stacking free actions and extra turns.
Dezban
I mean, officers are nice, but it is so hard to step away from bladedancers. Even with their nerf they are still op. I like to make my rt a biomancing bladedancer. And between the rt and kibellah, you can clear out the reactor room fight in act 1 by round 2. Even cassia has a hard time getting kills in. And its like that for the rest of the game.
darthinebriated
I still haven't forgiven them for what they did to my girl Linzi in Kingmaker.
Thizicis
But she was so happy to live her dream.
GiveYourBallsATug69
Yeah, it didn't feel great. I feel like the writing is one of their biggest weaknesses after game balance. Linzi's ending didn't feel good, especially for the fact that it's unavoidable. And that you can then romance the villain feels so absurd. RT's ending slides almost made me hate the game too. I did my best to bring everyone together, complete all their quests for loyalty, and then they fucking kill each other offscreen.

The death cultist being the most wholesome romance option was extremely on brand for 40k

I didn't realize I could be sold on a game in one sentence, bravo. Downloading on steam as we speak.

The Yrliet romance is extremely sweet.

I personally find her behavior in act 3 (If you know, you know) to be a deal breaker. Guess I'm just weird like that.
Dezban
Ya... I may have been mad enough with her to flat out kill her on the next run instead of recruiting.
stopoverthinkingitcrazy
Can she stop calling us Mon-Keigh yet?
CrisprCAS
She does stop. Starts calling you Elantarch.

O.O THEN THERE'S A CHANCE! Another playthrough it is, thank you kindly!
