Does the 5th amendment allow you to not incriminate family members, or is that just like spouses and shit? (Or does that even apply because it's a civil case? )

The spouse not testifying against a spouse is not part of the 5th but comes from various state and federal laws and can be suspended in some circumstances. The fifth amendment is generally about self incrimination & so a child couldn’t use it to protect their parent. Also generally speaking pleading the 5th in a civil case is not a good thing as the jury/judge is allowed to assume the worst about the question the defendant was asked that prompted them to take the 5th.
