They are going into the current election cycle with the amount of cash they leave it with and they just lost the treasurer position in their party to the family leaking money like a busted pipe. So they aren't out yet but I would be surprised if they leave this cycle with anything. If we can make em lose this seems like it might be over for them as a unified force.

Jesus' comment was specifically to his disciples: Judas in particular, because he was stealing the money THEY were collecting to help poor Israelites. There's nothing in the Gospels that supports a view of a permanent poverty class.

the problem is many are homeless due to mental issues, And they have deep mental issues because the GOP with help from Reagan dismantled the entire mental healthcare system. Yes the "loony bins" as we called the mental hospitals in the 80s were horrible inhumane places, but the proper solution was to reboot them with modern humane methods not shut the system down. Today we reap the rewards of not fixing the systems.

They weren't horrible or inhumane, the press pushed that story and hyped up a handful of incidents across the nation to get them closed. And it wasn't "the GOP with help for Reagan" it was one of the most bipartisan things the government ever did. Gov. Mario Cuomo (D) of NY was more responsible for it than Reagan was, though Reagan was happy to go along with it to cut taxes. At the start of the (1/2)

Not housing or feeding the life-long residents there was the only way he could cut taxes without pulling services from people who voted. Not a single employee was fired; they were kept on, treating nobody, until they retired, because they and the state workers' union voted. The stooges of the press were happy to push stories of one bad research study to help him.
