In the hospital I work in the numbers have risen so high they've quarantined a whole unit again. And people still won't wear masks. Makes me angry.

The Australian government has just changed their vaccine recommendations to say that further boosters are no longer recommended. There is no quarantine or mask measure and, supposedly, the top scientists are reporting that all cause mortality is normal or less than predicted. It's strange times.

The new covid science is over my head. I'm just mad because I can't bring that shit home to my immunocompromised family. Yet here I am. My current symptoms are a sore throat and a weird euphoric brain fog. Much different than last year.

I avoided Covid for 3.5 years and just had it. Exactly as you describe; sore throat, full body aches, fever for a day, major brain fog. I finally tested negative on Day 10, but I’m told the weakness and brain fog can last a bit longer and to still rest. This one seems pretty contagious too. Masks are back!
