The sad part it, I don't even think what has happened there can be considered a win.

No it won't because reasons I can't substantiate and here's an opinion supporting my opinion.

It would be incredible to have this man as President.

As someone who gets all their news from imgur. I can only believe that Bernie Sanders & Chrisp Rat are the most popular people on earth

As someone who interned on Capitol Hill. It is a shame to our politic system that representatives do not have to be present for these things

11 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

That blows my mind. You're tasked with running a nation and you can't even be bothered to show up?

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Representatives vary in degree of commitment to the cause of being an actual politician (dedicated, frugal, responsible) quite drastically.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm confused... do they provide some sort of service?... or is it more like a "..and collect $200 when you go past Capitol Hill"?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No, there are vary degrees to which reps operate. I worked for a guy who has slept on a couch in his office for 20+ years to save money.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

what do you pay them for exactly?

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They are the scapegoats and the decision makers. These jobs are a really notoriously stressful. Just look at 2008 Obama to now. Its crazy.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They pay themselves... with our money... to do nothing...

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not wholly true. Yes tax dollars pay their saleries as well as all "public servents (cops, firefighters, elects...etc) they do work hard tho

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Remember when people questioned your patriotism because you opposed the war? Now those same people can run away from it fast enough.

I question the patriotism of the asses that aren't in those seats. Traitors, the lot.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I believe we should have done it smarter. There is a direct relationship between rushing of our troops home and the rise of Isis.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Only because the US government was supplying the Islamic state so they would overthrow their government, but it backfired.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Havnt you heard though? It's all Hillary Clinton's fault.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

Actually, the senate intelligence committe that Kerry was a member of who advised Bush that Saddam had WMD's is to blame.

Can you feel it? The BERN?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

While the empty room seems poignant, it's really just always like that. It's why they stopped showing it.

Saddest part. How can a democracy work if the people representing us can't be bothered to show up.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That's just splendid.

This was a contributing factor for the removal of the Articles of Confederation. Maybe it's the current Constitutions turn.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All the people representing us ARE there

If you won't show up for work because you are too busy playing golf with campaign buddies, you're fired.

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

they should have cameras on them when they aren't in the office

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Make it a reality TV show

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it would be the most fascinating boring show on the planet, but still worth the airtime

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How does this even happen?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, this was the gulf war though. The one in 1991. The one where we stopped Saddam from invading an allied nation then left.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

How do you know? That makes a big difference even though it shouldn't.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ah, I thought that might be so from comments on the last time this was posted. He keeps to his principles, but I'm not sure I agree though.
