What do those yellow lines indicate? The closest thing to them here are either white hashes that indicate spare space for merging or turning traffic to use and no other purpose, or double yellow lines that forbid over-taking in dangerous sections of road. Either one that drip wouldn't be allowed on.

As a German: First of all we have those idiots as well. Secondly: They may lose their drivers License when they don't do it. In the 10's it became a problem then a new law passed about the Rettungsgasse and Emergency Vehicles were equiped with Cameras and this Camera evidence was allowed in Court. So now you are getting a fine and points on your driver license if you behave like this idiot. And most likely lose it for one month. When you are cought driving without, you are a yearlong pedastrian.

Stopped at red light at intersection surrounded by cars, eventually front cars "ran" the red light (appropriately). Our department in Seattle sold one to Mexico. Guys showed up one day and just drove it away. Fast forward and I'm retired, living in this little sleepy surf town in Mexico, when I look over and here's #16, my old fire truck. Couldn't be more proud to see she was still shining and bright, with a new Mexican flag waving proud along with our department sticker on the back. And yes, you can buy old, but priority new goes to departments in need.

Reminds me of the story my retired cop brother in law tells about the guy who was belligerent while being arrested after a DUI accident. BIL wrote him a dozen tickets, one for every infraction he could think of, including failure to signal a lane change (the car crossed into the oncoming lane mid-accident) and improper parking (the car came to rest on the side of the road as if parked, but facing the wrong way to be parked there.) The judge threw the last two out but the rest stuck.

Let’s start with the guy was DRUNK. Then accident was caused by veering into oncoming traffic & end with a belligerent drunk. No one told him to drink that much, drunk is one thing, exposing others to drunkenness ok. Not while behind the wheel of an approximate 2 ton weapon. No one else that day anticipated being attacked by the poor choices of a drunk that day.
