If only it were that simple...

"In Between" (2012) is a beautiful animated short film which follows a young woman as she copes with her daily life.

The problem?

This guy...

At every turn, he makes her life unbearable

No matter how much she tries to get rid of him.

But maybe its not all bad...

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

The crocodile represents her SHYNESS, according to the sauce.

Wow, this was made by students of my school the year I graduated. So happy to see this on frontpage. UPVOTING!

Crocodiles should be the new cats.

wasn't this from a commercial of some sort

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks like one of our (The US's) depression medication commercials... but, it's very well done.

Just grab the upper half of the phone dammit or pull on the wire. Guess she's scared she'll crack a dial

I am just wondering who took the time to record the crocodile noises Like who literally gurgled infront of a microphone for 5 minutes

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CROCODIIILLLLLEEEE!!!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is the crocodile a metaphor for the drug krokodil and her dependancy on the flesh rotting substance in question?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Supposed to be social anxiety, right?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Broken sword graphics! I like

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I get it, it's depression or something

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That was a very puppy like crocodile.

I am addicted to animated short films. I have no idea why.

You get a variety of stories without commitment.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then I'd like to suggest The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan! I really love that one.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

large pay of, little commitment. all the enjoyment and experience of a movie condensed into the time it will take to clean your teeth

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You might be living with a crocodile.

Same!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are speaking French I'd guess they might be from France

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Gobelins L'école de l'image is def french and in Paris, but maybe Dutch or Belgian students...?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why is she so mean to him?! Poor guy.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Some people don't like crocodiles. Hard concept, I know.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He gets in the way, constantly pranks her when she tries to get shit done. He can be funny, but when it's constant it stops being funny.

10 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Maybe if she didn't treat him like shit he would stop

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Sigh. It's symbolic about a person feeling certain way about certain things and how it can be a nuisance as well as a spark for creativity.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I get its for anxiety, but you see at the end when she took the time to explain herself and took a stand it worked with her.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

No one likes their anxiety, but some do learn to cope with it.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

the crocodile represents shyness/social anxiety. i have yet to find a person that doesn't hate having that personality trait.

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

I don't hate it

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they'll like it when they introvert through the zombie apocalypse by accident. "huh? is that what all that noise was about?"

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

"oh...uh..I mean I was in a coma. yeah. wasn't just sitting in my room cause I do that anyway,

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Schizophrenia?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

the sauce says shyness.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's pretty clear it's social anxiety. Dont read too much into it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, methinks anxiety.

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

the end is nice coz it shows you don't need to totaly get rid of anxiety, it can be a healthy part of you, just needs taming

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Lemme guess, it's all a metaphor for emotional disorders?

10 years ago | Likes 481 Dislikes 8

Or a drug... Look it up if you have a solid stomach.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Watch the Vice doco on it. Amazing what people are doing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Irritable bowel syndrome actually.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've watched the vid. Social anxiety.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Source says it's a metaphor for her shyness.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's the duality of man.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought it meant dry skin

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The fact that you have to "guess" makes me question your intelligence. It's fairly straight forward, Sherlock.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 13

What else?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

nah that bitch has a crocodile man. Didn't ya watch da movie?

10 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

Sauce says Shyness, and I'll trust sauce since it's the account of the animation school this short is from.

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

No. Krokodil is a hard russian drug, the short is actually a hallucination of a dying homeless girl...

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Damn too dark man ! Too dark !

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Anxiety. I think it's a metaphor for anxiety.

10 years ago | Likes 223 Dislikes 2

me too, got that vibe.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't that fall under "emotional disorder"?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My first thought as well. Hard to make a call, feeling trapped in public, trying to shove it away before going out.

10 years ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 0

Could be, although my anxiety is never cute and playful.

10 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Once you overcome it and learn to just push past it I think the social wins are cute/playful/meaningful

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Yeah true, for me it's realising that you can still have fun DESPITE the anxiety that is the payoff.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Agreed. I still fee the anxiety but I don't let it get to me. I have just learned to cope better.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Symbolism aside, I want that fucking crocodile.

10 years ago | Likes 704 Dislikes 0

I bet it would look really cool as a stuffed animal.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Especially with the way it walks. So cute.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

as long it not Krokodil

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This one seems like an awesome pet

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have a tiny tortoise, basically the same thing...

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This crocodile reminds me of Joanna from rescuers down under.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Genuinely read that as "I want to fuck that crocodile" on the first pass.

This is one of the problems with inserting "fucking" into every sentence.
