Generations should be taught how pathetic & depraved it is to go along with such a loser.
He would be insignificant & penniless without lots of help from many government officials at all levels who have been complicit in aiding the sabotage of the nation from within.
Even after he's gone, the systemic corruption that let him & others fail their way up will remain, and it must be irreversibly dismantled for the country to ever have any hope of surviving & thriving.

He had a vision of the past and is trying to restore something that never was. If you want to understand him, he is a man totally ruled by fear and greed.

And a coward

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The sad part is he has zero clue or realization about how kindness and respect to any person next to you takes you on better journey

He only knows how to hurt

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That pretty much sums up his life, not just his current administration. Malignant Narcissists leave a wake of destruction, and he's being used by the wealthy to demolish our society and destabilize the world so they can rebuild it to accumulate more control.

That's what the tariffs are for. Concentrating power in u.s. firms

Even before 2016, a lot of people recognized Trump for what he is, a con man, a failure, a narcissist, a racist, a rapist, someone who should never have held any position of power. So of course History books will recognize that. What you should worry about, is what History books will say about the American people who elected him as President not just once, but twice, even after he was convicted of sexual abuse.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The best punishment IMO would be to erase him like they Pharoahs used to do. Use place holders but erase his name from history. That would hurt him the most and even persist after his death.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Absolute fraud.

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

This is only, /only/ if Americans develop enough self respect to reflect on history honestly. Without that, the jingoists will believe the lies for generations to come.

9 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

To be honest he is not a failure at what he is trying to do. The US built up value in terms of soft power in the world and long-running institutions. what trump has done is rapidly convert that capital into cash.
It's a bit like if you had a beautiful old castle and someone moved in, turned the stone walls in gravel and sold the gravel at slightly below market price

The death of the American Global Hegemony.

Less than 100 years ago, we controlled half the world's wealth. Now? We see the richest men and women of the country ripping it apart and breaking its economic bones to suck out the marrow of a few more millions.

If the Republicans and the Christian Nationalists continue turning the education system into a propaganda indoctrination system, history class will teach that he was the greatest leader America ever had, and all evidence to the contrary will be destroyed.

What should be taught, is how such a pathetic failure of a human managed to position himself as the head a superpower.

9 months ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Desperate people clinging on to the memory of better times, the fact is the dems have failed us regular people. If they were more anti corporate and out of lobbyist pockets they'd have more success. Instead they keep trying to win on sh*t that don't matter come election time like the gender of the candidate or how much they like a small percentage of the population or how terrible they think MAGA representatives and voters are. Good luck with that...

Decades of degrading public education. If the people are too stupid to figure out you’re lying you can just say whatever and put yourself in charge. Used to be you just had to say some stupid crap like “God told me I should be King.”

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This but also the American version of capitalism rewards people like him and teaches people to be like him. So for all intents and purposes he is a winner in that system and a symbol of success that the 'American dream' allegedly promises. Except the reality is that it's all a con and people cheering for it will be exploited by that system and himself.

Donald Trump, curing imposter syndrome everywhere.

9 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If we win... That's the key part right now it's not looking good at all in the slightest it's staggering how fast all our institutions collapsed in less than 8 months. I know they always say tearing down is easier than building but Jesus they weren't kidding. 250 years of institutions and law gutted.

This is ONLY because the people allows this. Or, should i say, Sheeple?

There are other countries than the US. Putin has "won" Russia, and 90%+ of the world still sees him as a power hungry dictatorial piece of shit

9 months ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

We don't even have an accurate figure on our budget because he has fired so many people and moved so much money around. It's just embarrassing.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fascism is not a sustainable political model. If we lose the outcome is that he and his ilk destroy the country, and get remembered for doing that. Short term he's eagerly re-writing history, but long term his narrative won't hold, even if we lose.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Hi, public historian here. Don't discount how much the internet and digitization has democratized history. If you're that concerned, start keeping your own daily journal.

9 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Precisely

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There's some hope. Project 2025 isn't going anywhere as planned from what i understand. They were expecting 2025 fully implemented within 180 days, and currently they're not even halfway, most of what they've got done was more loosely worded BS. Supposedly some of the rich and other 2025 people are making exit plans, buying homes in other countries to flee to. So it does seem they're worried.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh, the dismantling of America and the ushering in of a fascist state is behind schedule you say? Alrighty then.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm not saying it's not a shitshow, it most certainly is, but i'm just saying the assholes aren't winning every battle

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I hear ya. Gotta take what we can get at this point.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Definitely

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't kid yourself... This started with Ronald Reagan and the Bush family, henchmen for the ruling class, who then found sub-hencnhmen like Roger Ailes, Karl Rove, Leonard Leo, to systematically go about undermining confidence in public institutions in order to gain and keep control. They inadvertently made it possible for a con man to hijack everything. The OG is still hopeful that this will pass and they'll get it back, so they really haven't made much noise. Yet. And it might be too late.

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The "funny" thing is that not even a long time ago I was lectured by multiple people that the US constitution is far stronger than the non-written agreements and collection of laws what we could a kinda-constitution of the UK.

Looks like writing down something doesn't make it stronger, sadly.

9 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Paper is only worth what people make it worth. Sadly it seems 250 years is long enough for paper to become worthless.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, they had four years of testing limits, and then four years of planning, so what they've accomplished in 8 months isn't really surprising.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

To be fair, this is his second term and a lot of things have been set up to enable him for various lengths of time. The "Citizen United" decision for one, the various ways that districts can be gerrymandered for another. The Fauz Nooz Channel for a third.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel there was way too little pushback from many, many people who DO have power. Why wasn't Elon and his kindergarten group denied entry? They were not official government employees and if they supposedly were, they should not have been given entry until that was proven without a shadow of a doubt. Didn't understand it back then either. And why were Congress people who DID have clearance held at the door? Why wasn't some kind of law enforcement called to shoot the illegal doormen? Why?????

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Look at German history and how long it took Hitler to obtain complete control. I think you'll see that, at least the final push, was much faster than most people expected. History repeats itself and we shouldn't really be all that surprised.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not 8 months, not even 8 years. The building up to this complete collapse was started back before Obama won. A very significant step of the process was refusing to let Obama seat SCOTUS members. And it's been rolling on faster and faster since then with all of the GOPedo complicit.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, history will still see him like that.

History is written by the victorious...

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Trump won and failed.

9 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That really doesn’t apply in the internet age. He can rewrite American history, he can’t keep every other nation from reporting the truth

9 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

250 years of institutions and laws all held together by nothing more than a Gentleman's Agreement. They built the house but failed to pour any kind of foundation.

9 months ago | Likes 76 Dislikes 1

No, the foundation they chose (racism and bigotry) isn't acceptable anymore so is crumbling underneath their carefully constructed house of cards.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nobody likes to acknowledge that the FoUnDiNg FaThErS had far more in common with Trump than any average American. For all their talk of freedom and liberty, they explicitly only ever wanted institutions to be run by wealthy white me. They only wanted freedom for a narrow band of the population.

Plus at least a few of them raped kids. Jefferson, for example.

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They're actually demolishing the actual house right now too.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

That’s all any government or society is. Hell, driving on the highway is just a mutual agreement to not play bumper cars at 60 MPH. We all agree that it’s better to not be a selfish dick, except those few morons who think “oh, I’m special, I’ll just steal all this crap!”

9 months ago | Likes 40 Dislikes 1

The problem is, those few morons are now running the entire show.

9 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Are they any moronic than those who let them? No. The people is only instance who truly can grant or deny authority for individuals to make decisions. At the moment, it is on the allowance side.

9 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah but that's backed up by actual penalties. With all...this... there's a lot of stuff that never got actual rules and consequences laid out.

9 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I mean, most of this shit IS blatantly illegal in one way or another, there just nobody holding them accountable. Hell, the dude who lied completely about his qualifications for Congress just got pardoned. There are no consequences for them.

9 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It's nested, yeah - there are no consequences or punishment for the people in charge of enforcing and meting out punishment as well!
