Sure, the hubless wheels look badass, but is there any advantage?

I almost think there is a disadvantage, less breaking area, so longer breaking time.

Zero. They look cool and they proved it can be done. But Sbarro didn't try to make practical suv's, their aim is crazy cars. Succeeded! :)
