Apparently there was a fatal accident and the entire stretch of I4E was shut down for most of the day. Luckily by the time I left work it was open (though slow, despite having no remnants of the accident to rubberneck at), and if it wasn't, there ARE alternate routes, all of which I thankfully knew lol.
