So my dog found a bone

Came home from the gym and he was sitting proudly on the couch with this thing.

I took a few pictures and sent them to an anthropologist at KSU.

What could it be?

The previous owners claimed the mother in their taxes but there was no evidence of her in the house.

The shed was fairly new.

Where did he dig it up?

I found no holes out back.
