Hand and elbow so you can get it all in one spot, then throw it over in the corner and forget about it for a month until you need it again and spend five minutes untangling it.

Depending on what the cord is used for.

Why not just do it the way professionals do it? It's not like the people who know disagree.

The way pro audio guys wrap their cables, and NEVER around your elbow (unless you like tangled cords).

Start at the wrist and wrap around the arm till it looks like a power arm then ask why is your arm getting tingly and why is your hand blue. You will never be asked to wrap it up again

It's a knot that's easy to tighten, hard to loosen, doesn't bind, and doubles as an optional source of power when plugged into an outlet. AND FOR THOSE REASONS ONLY, STOP DOING WELLNESS CHECKS ON ME ALREADY!

Over under or AB technique.

the correct answer is: around a spool

Not really there's a wrapping method they teach kids in scouts even that unravels without tangling. There is actually a defacto best method. There has never even been an argument about how to wrap an extension cord because either you know how to or you don't and then you learn.

The internet can argue about anything.

I grab one end of it in a hand, then wrap it around the elbow of said arm

You like undoing tangles, and getting permanent ripples in your leads, then? That is OK, different strokes for different folks, as they say.

aye, it's wrong. you have to follow the curve of the wire from the original spool. reduce damage chance
