It will have VR support eventually, the 3.0 patch is a step in the right direction for the interaction system with VR in mind for the future

Only if you enjoy helping bug fix. 3.0 is still in heavy testing by limited backers, but the moons they've added are amazing. Otherwise wait

I backed it way back when but each time I log in its buggy as hell.. I have drifted off through the space station a dozen times

That particular bug will be fixed once you can play 3.0, but there's lots of new frustrating bugs :)
