My wife, MIL and I took my daughter trick or treating. As we were walking to a house we noticed a trump Vance sign in the yard and immediately skipped it. I felt kind of bad because we’re doing this for our daughter and she does not know anything about politics. Plus they were out there giving candy to kids. #politics

It's just one candy in a bucket or bag of candies, it won't hurt your daughter in the least, so don't feel bad. You didn't deny her anything she isn't already getting.
If you had a 10 year old determined to get the most candy they'd ever had, and refused to let them hit up each house, that would be a bit of a jerk move as it might suck the fun out of their mad rush for the goods. Sounds like your daughter isn't old enough to care though m.

That's exactly the situation I was in. My daughter was determined to get as much candy as possible and I wasn't gonna stop her. I definitely considered passing them by, though. One in particular usually has quite a bit out for Halloween and dresses up. It was disappointing to see a giant Trump flag hanging from their house this year.

Casual complacency has gotten us to this point on multiple fronts (church pedophiles, racism, violence against others, and many many many others), and it's detrimental to continue. It doesn't mean we have to be ugly/violent against them, but we can actively avoid those who would otherwise mean us harm.
