How did Finnish end up in the middle of countries that speak vastly different languages?

Most of the languages of Africa and the middle East aren't in the Indo-European language tree. Arabic, Hebrew, et al are Semitic languages.

Persian. But not on this graph (no African/middle eastern languages displayed. Need another map)
