Letting Americans die for corporate profits is something they seem to enjoy doing.

politics

"Oh yes, it DOES!" - current nazi policy makers.

GREED. Stop inviting those who will happily, with great gusto, sell off the lives of 'the peons' for pennies, so that a few rich guys can get much richer. The ones u vote in don't even 'profit' all that much, not compared to what they help the others gain. Make it something you stick to, if a politician works against the people they represent, TEAR THEM DOWN from office, on the spot, and vacate that position until someone less corrupt moves in. Stop making it open only to those with hands out.

Totally agree. And this sort of shit is not just happening in the US, it's also happening in other parts of the world. In the end, it's always the lower income earners, the poor who get fucked over, and the socks they should have to pull up are taken away from them.

Tax worth, not only income. Tax corporations enough to incentivize putting profits into higher wages. Stock buybacks are market manipulation and should be prosecuted. Failing that, Liugi did nothing wrong.

18 trillion over the last few decades in tax cuts went straight to the pockets of the rich.
Did they pay for the taxes that support the military? No. The poor did.
The only way it's going to trickle down is if we make them pay their share of the taxes they avoided.

Is it true that the only way to eliminate the national debt is to declare bankruptcy and issue a new currency?

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. You could tax the rich.
Any sort of attempt to default on the national debt would ruin the USA.

50% of Americans can't afford rent- Colonialism- the economics of desperation and exploitation (Vs New Deal Progressive shared prosperity). The US is an oligarchy, plutocracy- Harvard study. And the military protects them for free. We pay the taxes that funds the military. That makes them anti-American.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Americans voted for this. Exactly this. And YOU might not have voted for it but Americans at large did. You let a pedophile into the office and now you are getting what you deserve. Shame on you.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So you're blaming the victims? We had a concerted attack on American democracy waged by the silicon Bros, Rupert Murdoch, and the oil barons.
Too many white people that have fought this are being lumped in with brainwashed and the grifters. Many of us could have just rolled over and put on a red hat.
We didn't.
Now don't give us shit.

You let Trump be the president. You are no victim, just an enabler

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see you argue like a child in a schoolyard.
No you did it, no you did it, without any evidence that any particulate individual in the group that you are prejudiced against, yes, prejudiced against,
Same logic as a bigot.

Your president is a pedophile and a rapist. I have no respect for a country with a leader like that. Trump is your representative to the world. Own it.

Own your blind prejudice.

Right now, Washington State just passed a millionaire tax, targeting people with over $1m in income. Good, we say! But wait. Washington has a law, embedded in its constitution, that defines income as property. There are strict tax laws on property, and rules that those taxes must be applied uniformly. Currently they're at 1%. This new law is designed to be challenged. If the challenge is upheld, that eliminates property tax limits on everybody in Washington.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The poor have no property, so it won't affect them if they put a 1% tax across the board on property and reduce any other taxes the poor may pay. But that one happened because it would be fair.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the poor have income. Income is property. Washington's constitution prohibits taxing one group differently from others. The rich don't have income the way poor people do. They borrow against their stocks and other assets. So when this settles out - this will become a tax on the poor and middle class. Not the wealthy.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are there no income deductions there? No standard deduction? Do you actually tax income at lower income levels than the federal government does?

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I no longer live in Washington state. This is a developing situation. Something like this has happened before there. Used to be, only the state could sell hard liquor (prohibition-era issue). Was actually a good deal: kept prices low, sales went to state infrastructure, keeping taxes low. Liquor industry hated it, and after several tries, convinced voters to toss that and privatize liquor sales. profits to corporations went up, liquor prices went up, $ to infrastructure dried up, qol down.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So that means there are income deductions and the people would pay very little. You were just making things up. I get it.

We could just withhold labor, collectively. Nothing can exist without our participation

2 months ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 2

The rich have near endless reserves but the most vulnerable will suffer.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If your solution involves "if everyone would just" ... you don't have a solution. In the entire history of everyone, everyone has never justed

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The thing about that is, organization takes time and money and work. And in order to do it you have to have the means to not only survive while you're doing it, but also to have a way of life not unattractive to the people you're trying to organize. So when both you and the people you want to organize are putting all your time and work into getting enough money to survive, it gets a bit difficult.

2 months ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

In other words, by convincing you that it's impossible, they've won the battle before it's even begun.

We've done it before and we can do it again.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It’s slowly lose ground so that you have nothing anyway and no way to get it back or rip off the bandaid. If people got more serious about even talking about collective action, we would be able to organize and mentally prepare. It is self defeating to point out how it will be hard and shouldn’t try. This is the exact reason republicans give to not do anything or cancel programs because they are not perfect even if functional.

2 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're acting as if the choice is between "just withhold labor" - a simple, quick, easy thing that can be "just" done, just like that, like pushing a button - and "do nothing". As if the whole huge complicated thing not just happening all at once right this instant means that no one is working for it. That's... counterproductive, not to mention incredibly dismissive.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where did I say we should just up and withhold labor spontaneously? I specifically said talk about it more to plan or prepare in order to have a successful strike. What you are saying based on the context on my comment is that we should never strike or even consider it. Your comment suggests I specifically said let’s all walk out now and everything will work itself out. I don’t know how to correct your interpretation of my comment other than reposting it and breaking down each statement.

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I wrote "it gets a bit difficult" I did NOT mean "it's impossible" or "we shouldn't do it." I was replying to what on its face looked like yet another iteration of that "Yet you participate in society!" gotcha, explaining why we still haven't "just" collectively withheld our participation from this horrible thing that indeed exists.

I must assume I read you wrong, now, but all I had for context was "We could just withhold labor, collectively. Nothing can exist without our participation"

2 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This! Thank you for succinctly responding to all the “but why have you revolted yet?!” dumbasses. They have set us up so we don’t have the means to strike for more than a day or two before we’d all be starving (not to mention shot by ice).

2 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Okay, so continue to lose ground until you have even less than 2 days of survival, because they will take more. If nothing is even discussed while it’s still plausible, then when the day comes that it is necessary no one will be capable. Talking about it is how it starts, saying people are dumbasses for even whispering against the masters is the reason why people are wage slaves.

2 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

This is discussing it. Step 1 of any sort of discussion like this is to identify hampers to the likelihood of success. We're not saying it won't work because we don't wanna, we're saying it won't work without a significant amount of organization and community support that has but been established. We lose more ground with a poorly thought out plan that harms our allies if it fails
