OK so if you live in Australia and enjoy the programming on the ABC, you may know of a little scientific program called Catalyst. Most people I ask tend not to watch it but it is truly great!

Last night it ran the story titled above, which happened to strike a chord with me as it happens to be a subject that has been on my mind for the past two years. From my thinking about this almost constantly I have suffered two years of depression from the feeling of utter helplessness in regards to solving the problem however I have recently clawed my way out of that rut, and now am striking out on trying to actually solve it!

Now obviously this is no mean feat as during those years of deliberation I have come to the conclusion that the only solution is MASSIVE global change in public opinion, and as one man that seemed basically impossible without a ready source of well constructed and accurate information, until now!

Imgur is afaik the best place for me to turn, Facebook is predictably useless, and in my case quite small. I can only ask that everyone PLEEEEAAAASEE SHARE THIS VIDEO around for the good of every person alive now and to live in the future! Seriously it doesn't matter who you are, what you do, what your passion is because the continuation of your exploits depend on a truly global change.

(I guess I'll start sounding a bit like [or a bit more like :/] a nutter from here on)

You may find that the route cause is greed and a capitalist economy, (no I don't have any political opinion), and that we have essentially two paths to choose from; either we continue as we are and basically doom our species and/or life on earth, or we can take very extreme action on changing our methods.
I believe that the economic system will prove to be a huge barrier to progress in this regard (see discussion on cleaning the oceanic gyres, "its not economically viable" you can't spend money when you are dead...). The big money in the world would presumably be opposed to these actions and governments will play their puppet as always, so a global public push is the only way!

TL;DR: If we don't stop being foolish with our planet, we will lose it. LETS DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT NOW!!!
